MORAINE

The Moraine wind energy facility sits along the Buffalo Ridge—a major ridge-line which spans from Iowa to South Dakota and benefits from high winds known as Bermuda Highs, originating both from the Gulf of Mexico and the Rockies.

THE FACILITY


Location: Pipestone and Murray Counties, Southwestern Minnesota
Generating Capacity: 51 MW
Turbines: 34 GE 1.5 MW wind turbines. Tower height is 65 meters and rotor diameter is 70.5 meters.
Transmission: Interconnects with Northern States Power(NSP) transmission system.
